Show: First Australian Music Hour, Tuesdays 8pm-9pm <\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I started as a presenter on WMA fm, later to become MainFM, in June 2010. I’ve always had an interest in community radio and many years ago worked in the live music industry so I thought I’d try my hand at being a DJ. I started doing an Australian music show on Thursday nights called Hot To Trot. It’s proved to be a great way to engage with the community and meet other like minded people.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I worked as a mental health nurse before I got involved with MainFM.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My current show is The First Australian Music Hour. The program specializes in contemporary music by indigenous Australian performers. My current program has been going since 2021. I finished doing my Thursday night show in 2020 but missed the buzz of presenting on radio. I’ve had an interest in Aboriginal bands since the late ’70s and I’ve been building a collection of music that I really like to share.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Castlemaine is a vibrant and diverse community. I now live in Adelaide but keep in touch with the Castlemaine community by being involved with MainFM.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Josh Meadows is someone who I think is an outstanding presenter. He has thoughtful and understated commentary between the great music selection on It’s A Jangle. I also think it’s important to mention some of the talk show presenters like Hayley of Dead Air for the research and work they put into their programs.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Community radio is a diverse collection of individuals with a common purpose.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stand-out moments and memories include hosting live to air music and the opportunity to do interviews with several notable Australian musicians.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I’m probably the worst person to ask about promoting a show. I use no social media and don’t even have a promo.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
