Recently, a diligent and no doubt power conscious person has been switching off our computer monitors at the station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I can understand why this is a good idea. On one hand, it may prolong the life of the monitors, and it would also save some power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this case, however, the other hand<\/em> needs to trump the former.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With so many people using and relying on our computers, you can be sure a good few aren’t particularly confident users of technology. Pre-show, a nervous presenter may panic at seeing all the computer so incredibly OFF-looking, and though the solution seems obvious to some, you can also be sure it’s not obvious to all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n In this context, we’d appreciate everyone leaving our computer monitors on, please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Typically, on the underside edge of each screen, to the right, there is a power button. Find it and press it.
