The philosophy of the program “Just Classics” is to present as wide a variety as possible of classical music.

Each program is based around one major work at its center such as a symphony or concerto. The composer’s style is illustrated with two smaller works to open and close the program. 

There is also an emphasis on vocal and choral items and Australian performers or ensembles. All musical genres, periods and styles are represented. Every program includes at least one work by an Australian composer. We are fortunate in having accumulated a substantial body of Australian compositions of international standard during the last 100 years.

We also celebrate important anniversaries or seasons by playing certain compositions such as Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio” at Christmas time or Handel’s “Messiah” at Easter.
