Join the MASC live events team and learn how to perform technical duties for performance
including dance, theatre, live music, talks, workshops and community events at the Phee Broadway Theatre and Mechanics lane outdoor pop up space working alongside a
Supervising Theatre Technician.
This course will be a hands-on learning opportunity, working on site in the theatre and Mechanics lane preparing for the production of live events.
Tasks will include:
production bump in and out
stage set up
operation of the venue’s live streaming and video projection equipment
rigging and operation of sound equipment
rigging, focus and operation of lights
rigging and operation of fly lines under supervision of Supervising Theatre
Technician
Maintain all venue equipment and building infrastructure in good working order and in a clean and tidy condition, under direction of the Supervising Theatre Technician.
Workplace Health and Safety.
Participate in professional development opportunities, upskilling, acquiring certificates for continuing work in the arts industry.
This course is a MASC initiative and will be free for participants to enrol. On completion of the training there will be an opportunity to work with the supervising Theatre technician during the Castlemaine State Festival and Castlemaine Fringe Festival program in March/April 2023.
