Would you like to interview Kate Stones about this State Festival event?
Registrations for this project close on March 17, so it’d be great to get an interview in in good time to promote engagement.
Details as follows:
Castlemaine State Festival is calling out for young people aged 14-18 to participate in an amazing project called ‘Nightwalks with Teenagers’.
‘Nightwalks with Teenagers’ is an amazing socially-engaged theatre work created by Canadian Theatre Company, Mammalian Diving Reflex. It has been performed in different places all over the world. Expert youth theatre-makers MDR create a safe space for local teenagers to create their own ‘nightwalk’ that takes Castlemaine State Festival audiences on a journey through the secret world of teens. We are doing a call out for young participants to create the walk, and take up this once in a lifetime opportunity to work with an award-winning international arts company. MDR are experts in creating a safe, inclusive environment and placing young people firmly in the creative drivers’ seat. Everyone aged 14-18 is welcome. There will be four workshops to create the experience, followed by four performances during the Festival. You don’t have to be a ‘theatre person’ to participate! All you need is ideas and commitment. The whole project will be completed over 10 days from 24 March – 2 April, including 4 workshops, a rehearsal and 4 performances. It’s a great way to connect with peers and other members of the community, and you can bring your friends along too. Email kate@castlemainefestival.com.au or call on 0431 998 707 for more information and to register your interest. Registrations must close Friday 17 March, so get in touch by COB on that day.
Attached is a flier, detailed document including the workshop schedule, and a registration form.
