Sunday May 5th really turned it on for the Radio Picnic. The weather couldn’t have been better, the market was properly bustling and some of our celebrity presenters did us all proud, broadcasting 8 HOURS of live radio from the van featuring interviews aplenty, friendly chats with each other and a whole mixed bag of great music.
Community members ambled past and stopped to listen and check out the van. There was dog patting galore, one-off presenter pairings and new connections made, MainFM folks dropping past to say g’day and some showing off of market treasures, including some fantastic mandarins. How good’s a great mando?!
A big thanks to Tadpole, Mitch, Herbie, Sharon, Glenn & Sam, Tigah & version, Emmaline & Gen, Tony & Pete, Bonny & Maddie, Al Parso and Emily, Justin & Anne-Marie, our swag of guests, visitors, and a special shout out to Joel and Dani for providing invaluable assistance during a mini crisis! Also, I’d like to thank the regular Sunday presenters who willingly made way for others for the day’s special programming, including Anto, Kya & Lucy and Shanos & Richos.

Terrific day. Sam and I enjoyed Our Session. We played very little music as we talked and talked to Our Guests and each other. Sorry we couldn’t stay. I listened from early in the morning with Col then the INTRO and followed the day as we drove down the highway to Melb. OUTSTANDING Radio from ALL and CONGRATS and THANKS to Alex for a terrific All Round Job. Organisation, Preparation, Set Up, Co ordination and Pack Up. You made the day a breeze and a FUN day at that.
