Nancy from IMT emailed a great question:
How do I link IMT Mixcloud to MAINfm? Can you link it? Or tell me how to do so please.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to how to do this, but also why.
Firstly, we can’t link a personal show account to the MainFM account, but we can ‘repost’ shows via the MainFM page. Here’s what it looks like.

Here’s the IMT Mixcloud page. The arrow points toward where we can SWITCH ACCOUNTS.
You’ll see this menu. Select ‘Switch account’.

Enter these credentials to access the MainFM account.
Email: mfmixcloud@gmail.com
Password: Mainfm9409

The yellow arrow now shows the MainFM account logo, which means we’re now logged in as MainFM. Notice the web page still shows the IMT Mixcloud page, though. This is what we want. If we couldn’t see the IMT page, we could simply search for it (top left) to bring it up.

This is the REPOST button. If we click this, we will post this show on the MainFM account. Think of it as MainFM re-sharing its favourite shows. A reposted show is then listed via the MainFM account.

Now we’re back on the MainFM Mixcloud page (yellow arrow indicates this). See the red arrow? This button is now coloured purple and has a small number 1, which means this IMT show has now been reposted once. Note that Martin’s show, below, is likewise reposted from his ‘Still Life With Pansy’ account.

Now we’re looking at a list of shows either (A) uploaded directly to the MainFM account, or (B) reposted from other accounts.
Which show names stand out?
Which episode titles are easiest to read and decipher?
What do you think of the images?
These are all good questions for you to consider when you’re naming your uploaded shows.
Why bother?

You’ll expose your shows to a much bigger audience! MainFM currently has nearly 600 followers on Mixcloud. Most of these people receive emails when new shows are uploaded.

This shows 1 year of audience growth on the MainFM account. That’s over 100 new listeners/followers in a year.
There are people all over the world listening, too.

These numbers give some idea of HOW people are listening. Direct listens through the website currently rule OK.

So there you have it. Posting to Mixcloud is worthwhile. We never know who wants to hear our shows but can’t at your actual show time.
If you want any help, reach out to Alex. He’ll get you under way, no probs.
