Do you ever wonder what happens to the shows some of us post to the MainFM Mixcloud page?
Is it worth uploading your content to our page after your show?
Here are a few numbers that might help you decide.
This graph shows some stats for 1 month up until March 1. Our collective MainFM shows attracted 769 plays – wow! The biggest listening day was February 1 with 55 plays, then Feb 22 with 50 plays. Even the smallest listening day attracted 7 plays.
Over the course of this month, we attracted 19 new followers.
What do people use to listen to MainFM via Mixcloud?
It seems the vast majority listen from desktop computers.
A lot listen from the Mixcloud app on either Android or Apple phones, and then a whole bunch from web browsers on their phones. Altogether, that’s more phone listeners than desktop listeners.
Where is everyone?
Naturally, a lot listen from Australia, but it might surprise you to know we get quite a lot of listens from other places around the world including a lot from the United States.
So, looking at these numbers, it’s interesting to think about the potential for your show to remain alive beyond the time it airs on MainFM. We can never tell whose ears will prick up when they hear our shows.
Perhaps you could think of an upload as an opportunity for someone to build an interest where there wasn’t one before. Or maybe it’s an effort to make MainFM just that little bit more accessible on the whole.
