A powerful new podcast series presents engaging stories that strikes to the heart of what it means to live as someone who identifies as LGBTQIA+ in regional Australia.
Pride Across the Ages Podcast captures intimate, heartfelt generational stories of Pride over the years of LGBTQIA+ people residing in the regional shire of Mount Alexander in central Victoria.
A launch event is happening in Castlemaine on Thurs May 4th 6pm – 8pm at the Phee Broadway Theatre. The launch will include a reception with refreshments, the opportunity to listen to highlights with the stars of the podcast sharing their stories and experience of participating in the production.
Produced by the team behind 94.9MainFM’s Queer and Now radio show, the podcast is the second in the successful series and is available for stream now on Spotify, Amazon Music and iHeart Radio.
Discover recorded stories of LGBTQIA+ community, their journey to regional Victoria and the challenges and opportunities both past and future. The podcast forms a permanent record of LGBTQIA+ history serving to increase understanding of the hardships and coping strategies employed to face challenges endured. The series bridges gaps across the broader community as well as creating a time capsule and lasting archive.
Each episode presents as an in-depth story of that person’s life and how they have navigated their queer identity. Representing a diverse community of people of different ages and backgrounds, the stories make for engaging listening with the power to move and inspire.
