From 25 November to 10 December 2026, mark the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence under the theme: “UNiTE to End Violence Against Women and Girls: Ensure justice, protect survivors, end impunity.”
During the 16 days, people around the world unite to raise awareness about gender-based violence, challenge discriminatory attitudes, and call for improved laws and services to end gender-based violence for good.
We would LOVE you to join the conversation as a presenter, in your own way, on your shows over this period. Really important though – we ask that you engage with this TOOLKIT we’ve made for you as presenters, to ensure you have ideas, facts and talking points that are accurate.
It doesn’t have to be a big feature or a confronting interview. It could be as simple as:
- Interviewing a local organisation working in family violence prevention, respectful relationships or gender equality.
- Talking with a musician or artist about how their work challenges stereotypes or celebrates women’s voices.
- Exploring what respect looks like in sport, workplaces, schools, families or online.
- Asking a guest what people can do when they hear a sexist joke or disrespectful comment.
- Sharing local support services and resources.
- Playing music by women and gender-diverse artists and discussing themes of freedom, equality and respect.
This took kit is designed to provide you with information and resources to help empower you to discuss the issues confidently.
If there is anything you would like to discuss please get in touch steph.riddel@mainfm.net
