Here is the information (all in one spot!) you need to know as a Presenter for our 2026 Radiothon ‘Keepin’ It Real – Local voices. Your community.
Below you will find information about: The key two things you need to do NOW as a presenter (Sign up to an Office Support shift and email programming@mainfm.net to confirm you can do a live show during Radiothon), Radiothon Presenter’s Forum info, the Radiothon Presenter’s Handbook (essential reading), and a Vox Pops sign up/prompts sheet. All this information (except the Handbook, which is hot off the press today) has already been shared in our internal member’s newsletter, Tune In (please email laura.cady@mainfm.net if you think you are not receiving these emails). Looking forward to another cracking Radiothon together folks!

SIGN UP to an Office Support Shift HERE (shifts are 2 hours). A reminder that as presenters, we rely on you to volunteer at least 6 hours a year to help contribute to keeping the Station running and on-air.

A reminder to please email Melissa (our Programming Coordinator) (programming@mainfm.net) to let her know if you can do a live show during your regular show slot in the Radiothon period (Sept 11th – 19th). We are trying our best to have all shows be live, so if you can’t do a live show during this period, we need time to organise things! Either way, you need to please email Melissa to confirm. Please don’t waster her time having to chase you for this info, x

See you at the Radiothon Presenter’s Forum (Mon Sept 7th, 6pm- 7pm). (RSVPs to laura.cady@mainfm.net are helpful, but not required). It will be a chance to come together (ooo rare!), make sure you are feeling comfortable with what you need to know as a Presenter during your Radiothon show, give you tips for what to do/say on your show to help boost people committing to subscribing to MainFM, and hear some updates from our Station Manager, Steph. Radiothon is a big deal for our station, raising the cash to literally keep us on air (think licensing, equipment upgrades, internet, electricity, rent) and we are keen to make it a big success with your help!
Radiothon Presenter’s HANDBOOK
BELOW is a copy of the Radiothon Presenter’s HANBOOK. This Handbook is essential reading please. It has all the key information you need to know for Radiothon as a presenter, and will help you be in the know!
Vox Pops in the community in the lead up to Radiothon!

Essentially, this year we are encouraging you to use your phone, or borrow a simple Zoom recorder from the station, to record some community members saying what it is they love about MainFM! Get people to articulate what they value about MainFM and remember why it’s important we are supported to stay on-air! You can use this Sign Up Sheet to get ideas about places you could go to get some community testimonials, or buddy up with another presenter/vollie.
Wear some MainFM merch (if you have some), distribute some Radiothon flyers, and get some Vox Pops from the community about what they love about MainFM! OR, skip the sign up and just ask/record your friends/family/barista/book club what they love about MainFM!
Want some help turning your bites of gold into something smooth? Gather your audio and bring it along to our Production Workshop on Aug 20th to turn it into a rad sting you can use in your show! (RSVP to laura.cady@mainfm.net)

Looking forward to celebrating each other during Radiothon, getting recharged from the community and raising the fund to keep MainFM kicking goals collectively!
